Sonoran Spring

Spring is arguably the best time to live in the desert.  Cool temperatures, periodic rain showers, and an abundance of color.  This afternoon I had an opportunity to go for a hike at South Mountain Park in Phoenix.  The park is unbelievably green and flowers are in full bloom.  Even an unskilled photographer (like myself) is able to capture a fraction of the beauty–I can only imagine the pictures a professional would generate.  I love the contrast provided by the desert–in color and texture.

If you would like to see more of the pictures from my hike, check out my Flickr stream: South Mountain Park.  Feel free to add comments or tell me the names of the flowers/cacti.  I would love to be able to give them accurate titles (instead of “bluish flower”).
